Our Story
In a faith decision, determined to keep his family of six on the family farm in Kansas, Homer Krehbiel started a small country store in January 1978. Without realizing it, Homer had grown up on a diet that was basically natural: raw milk, home grown beef, fresh garden produce and good old fashioned cooking and felt there were still enough people that liked, and wanted that same quality. The store started with just a few customers and only offered raw milk, frozen ground beef, cheese, and raw honey. The store offered quality items at a reasonable price and soon the list of customers started growing.
As interest in all natural processing took off, the business expanded to include a complete natural food line and a fresh meat market and smokehouse. Krehbiels Natural Meats began to develop recipes and products that were natural, produced the old fashioned way, with exceptional flavor, taste, and quality. Offering corn fed beef that was not implanted with hormones or given feed with antibiotics or additives, sausages that were made out of just beef and pork and not excess fat, hearts, tongues and cereal, and lean bacon and hams that weren't 20-30% water. To the Krehbiel family, all natural meant, adding nothing more than what nature put there in the first place.
Significant renovations and expansions took place in 1983 and in 2004, allowing for more growth and efficiency but continuing with the integrity of this family owned and operated business. On March 16, 2005, Homer and Sarah Krehbiel were proud to expand into the Meat Market & Deli located in McPherson, Kansas. In addition to the high quality natural meats you have been able to enjoy for years, customers can now enjoy hot and cold sandwiches, along with a full service Deli and Meat Counter, staffed with a qualified meat cutter.
Integrity and faith are the backbone of Krehbiels Natural Meats and it is the intent of the Krehbiel family name to honor God and the Lord Jesus Christ in all business dealings and customer relations. As business leaders, Homer and Sarah Krehbiel have been blessed and have also been given the opportunity to share those blessings with others around the world.
